More bad stucco

This stucco with a color cement finish looks like the ocean. Looking at this can make you sea sick.

This horrible workmanship is on the front of the National Democratic Club, next door to the Democratic National Commitee. The Democratic National Commitee is 2 short blocks from the US Capitol. News was made here when a pipe bomb was left outside the night of January 5, 2021. Fortunately, the pipe bomb was discovered and removed before it was detonated. This was part of the January 6th conspiracy to violently overthrow the government.

EIFS flapping in the breeze

Note how the panel has come loose and shifted. Not only does the stucco look horrible, the lath and framing are falling off the wall.

EIFS flapping in the breeze

You may have seen what I said about windows with no sills. The stucco isn't even angled down. This whole panel is coming loose. The Democratic National Commitee is visible in the reflection.

Unscrupulous contractor puts EIFS on addition on historic church.

hand made nail from 1822

The plans called for stucco, but the contractor substituted cheap, historically incorrect EIFS.

hand made nail from 1822

The ingrates that built this addition even substituted a cheaper grade of styrofoam. This is expanded polystyrene, not extruded polystyrene, as required for EIFS. Expanded polystyrene is made of little balls stuck together. Screws and nails pull through this kind of foam easily, and expanded polystyrene absorbs water more rapidly.
